On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday you’ll see a workout with me! You’ll get a new workout video put together by JOY trainer, Jeremy. On Wednesdays, Saturday and Sunday it’s a time to rest and recover, go for a long walk, try some Yoga workouts that you’ll find Backstage. There’s also running, bike ad cardio workouts if you’re feeling up for the challenge! Remember it’s important to listen to your body.
These workouts are flexible and can be done any day of the week, this is simply a guideline for you to adapt to your schedule and routine.
Each workout consists of 4 X 7 minute sets of exercises that have been designed to elevate your heart rate and get those endorphins buzzing.
A 30 minute workout using predominantly all body weight – yep only minimal equipment required! The workouts include a 2 minute warmup, and then you’ll be following along with me as JOY Trainer Jeremy coaches us through the exercises.
When you’re at the gym the workouts operate a little differently. Each workout comprises of 2 circuits, each circuit has 4 exercises that are performed twice (totalling 8 exercises per circuit) The amount of reps that you need to perform will be written on the screen (Remember that this will change for each exercise).
If you’re a beginner, choose a lighter weight and do more reps. If you’re more advanced, pick a heavier weight and do less reps. Remember it’s also about getting the form of each exercise right and not rushing through them.
You'll have 30 minutes to complete the workout, but if you go over time, that’s OK, remember to work at your own pace. If you find you have a lot of time left over then you might want to look at increasing the resistance.
